In this post, we will discuss how to install EnduraFlood using metal trims. EnduraFlood metal trims add a unique level of elegance and modern look to the walls of any basement or other flood prone area.
They can be used with either ENDU-BOARDs or with common cement boards of any height. Simple fastening solutions are available for both metal and wood studs.
To fasten MUNI-TRIM to metal studs, we use EnduraFlood UNI-RIV. To fasten MUNI-TRIM to wooden studs, we use EnduraFlood MUNI-NAIL.
When working with metal parts, always wear your safety glasses and a good pair of gloves.
Let's get started!
To mount MUNI-TRIM on metal studs, we clamp MUNI-TRIm to the studs using small plastic clamps. Then, we use a 3/32" drill to drill hole through MUNI-TRIM and the metal stud behind it. We insert UNI-RIV and use a common rivet tool for 3/32" rivets to fasten the rivet.
We repeat this process on at least every second stud or more.
With MUNI-TRIM mounted, we can now install our panel using BASE-CLIP. To install BASE-CLIP on metal studs, use the self-drilling SD-SCREW.
Install UNI-BASE as usual using a 3/32" drill to predrill a pilot hole. Make sure you drill the pilot hole through the metal stud. Then, use TH-SCREW and UB-PLUG to mount UNI-BASE.
Now, let's review how to mount MUNI-TRIM on wood studs.
In this example, we demonstrate the installation of the corner piece, MORI-COR/O on the outside corners of a column.
First, we dry-fit our corner. Then, we pre-drill a 3/32" hole into the metal trim, taking care that we don't drill into the stud. Carefully tap in the nail with a hammer. Then, we use a Trim Nail Punch to punch the nail until it is tight.
We do this on each corner leg at least twice.
Now, we insert our panels using MERTI-COR/O as vertical corner trims. Then we install UNI-BASE.

Finally, let's look at an inside corner installation using MUNI-TRIM, cement panels, MERTI-COR/I, and pre-painted gray UNI-BASE.
