After eight inches of water in the house: How Kay and Kevin got their sanity back.

Kay and Kevin have lived at the bay for over two years. Hurricane Idalia put eight inches of water in their house. This is their story of how they got their sanity back.

"So we've been in our home just on two years, two minutes down, we have the bay,

and that's where I walk our dog every morning. And we see dolphins, we see all kind of wildlife. So it's just a great place to be through hurricane Idalia in August of 2022.

We got approximately eight inches of water through the entire house. Everything from eight inches down was wet. And you kind of It's kind of an emotional process when you go through that. It's painful to have to empty out your house, have contractors in, dust everywhere, everything. It's a mess. We were out of the house for about three months with the whole debacle, with cutting the walls out and everything. So one of the goals for us was to a figure out what we could do to stop water from coming into the house, and then once it's in the house, how we're able to protect the inside of the house, you know, moving forward. So I just started Googling and came across the EnduraFlood.

The process was very simple. It could ship within, you know, 36 hours and shipped out here, and we were able to start installing it. My daughter and I were able to work on two rooms in the house ourselves. It was very simple to put up. Didn't need a lot of muscle. We could do it. After installing the EnduraFlood and getting our furniture back in I was blown away at the aesthetics behind it.

It really makes our house look and feel a lot more beachy than it did with sheetrock. When people walk in now, they're like, your house looks so much bigger.

What did you do? It's a good bonus. Yeah, it gives good sight lines when you're looking around the room. My major in college was interior design, and so the way that my home looks is extremely important to me. Turned out beautiful, and we get so many compliments now. It has made our house look better. Anybody that talks about living at the beach and talks about flooding, the next sentence out of my mouth is about EnduraFlood.

We're never going to have to replace drywall ever again. I think now that we've had it installed, we appreciate the fact that we don't have to worry anymore. There's no worry if a flood is coming, that's one less thing that we have to worry about. We know that the walls are going to be intact, so that's probably the major thing. And our sanity is intact.

Yeah, sanity, yeah, exactly. That's what you want."
