Has anybody installed Hardie backerboard and tile above the Endura-Board? I am installing Endura Board in 2 bathrooms up to 51" from the ground and then installing Hardie and tile above that on all bathroom walls. I am trying to figure out the transition due to depth variations. The finish chair rail and trim are only designed for 1/2" or 5/8" finishes. With tile, I will be well beyond that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Can you shim this? I did it for a client with plaster walls maybe 7/8 thick but not consistenly. Used different shims for the studs some thicker some thinner. Was a bit of a pain but came out nice.
